Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our translation services, processes, and policies.

What types of translation services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of services to meet your needs, including:
  • Certified Translations: For official use (immigration, legal, academic).
  • Sworn Translations: For international legal requirements.
  • Technical Translations: For specialized industry documents.
  • Academic Word-for-Word Translations: For credential evaluations.
  • Notarized & Apostilled Translations: For added authenticity.
  • ATA-Certified Translations: Performed by ATA-certified members.
  • Business & DTP Services: For marketing and operational content.
  • Expedited Services: Priority, Express, and Urgent options are available.
What's the difference between a "certified translation" and a "certified translator"?
That's a great question, as the terms are often confused.
  • A Certified Translation refers to the document. It is a translation that includes a signed statement from the translation company (like us) vouching for its accuracy and completeness. This is what most US institutions require.
  • A Certified Translator refers to a person. This is an individual linguist who has passed a rigorous certification exam from an organization like the American Translators Association (ATA). We have both ATA-certified translators and expert translators who provide our standard certified translations.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing is based on the document's complexity and length. For large orders of 1,500 words or more, we can offer a per-word rate starting from $0.06. For all other documents, we recommend checking our rates page or requesting a free quote for a precise estimate.
Do you offer translations for the DMV?
Yes, we provide certified translations that meet the specific requirements of the DMV, RMV, and other state licensing agencies. Requirements vary by state, so please choose the correct option on our form. You can find more details on our DMV translations page.
Do you provide translations for credential evaluation services?
Yes, we provide word-for-word certified translations of academic documents for submission to evaluation services like WES, ECE, and other NACES/AICE members. It is your responsibility to provide us with their exact requirements to ensure acceptance.
What about your in-house credential evaluation services?
We offer our own credential evaluation services.
  • Document-by-Document Evaluation ($60): Provides a U.S. equivalency determination.
  • Course-by-Course Evaluation ($120): Includes the above plus credit and GPA calculation.
While our reports are widely used, we cannot guarantee acceptance by every institution. We recommend you share our samples with the intended recipient for verification before ordering, as these services are non-refundable. You can see samples and pricing on our evaluation services page.
What are your turnaround times?
We offer several options to meet your deadline. The times below are estimates for small projects (1-4 pages):
  • Regular Service: 24-48 hours (from $19.95/page)
  • Priority Service: 10-24 hours (from $29.95/page)
  • Express Service: 3-12 hours (from $39.95/page)
  • Urgent Service: 3-6 hours (from $69.95/page)
  • Super Urgent: 1-3 hours (from $96.95/page)
Turnaround times for larger projects are longer and will be provided in your quote. Please note that while we strive to meet these estimates, complex documents may require more time.
What is the difference between Digital and Traditional Notarization?
  • Digital Notary: A legally valid electronic notarization sent by email. It's much faster than mail. We offer Same-Day (6-12 hrs), Priority (24 hrs), and Standard (48 hrs) options.
  • Traditional Notary: A physical "wet-ink" stamp on a paper document, delivered via FedEx. This is required if you need an original physical copy or intend to get an apostille.
Can you obtain an Apostille for my documents?
Yes, we can obtain apostilles for both our notarized translations and your original documents. We offer standard and expedited services. You can find more information on our apostille services page.
How do you handle document formatting and Desktop Publishing (DTP)?
We strive to match the original layout. For complex business documents (brochures, manuals, etc.), please provide editable source files (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator) for the best results. This may incur an additional DTP fee. We do not charge DTP fees for standard MS Office files (Word, PowerPoint), though some formatting may vary due to language differences.
What if I find an error in the translation?
We encourage you to carefully review your translation. If you find any mistakes based on the original text, we will correct them promptly within 12-24 hours at no cost.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Orders can be cancelled, but you agree to pay for the work completed up to that point. The cancellation fee can range from 20% to 100% of the total paid amount, depending on how much work has been done. To qualify for a refund, the translation must be officially rejected (with verifiable proof), significantly delayed, or of extremely poor quality. We do not offer refunds for minor, correctable errors. For full details, please read our Terms and Conditions.
